The Marcie Mazzola Foundation
About the Client:
The Marcie Mazzola Foundation was founded in 2003. The mission of the foundation is to continue Marcie's dream of "helping abused and at-risk children and to bring community awareness to the needs of children."
Challenge:
The foundation needed to provide a web site for the public to learn about what they do, how they do it, and give people the opportunity to see how the lives of children are effected. They wanted to send a strong message yet, let everyone feel the calmness that helping a child in need can bring to you. It was also noted that the site had to list the calendar of events and provide a way to donate to the foundation online.
Solution:
After speaking with the foundation committee it was decided that we would focus on the color purple for many reasons. It was Marcie's favorite color, it is also a very spiritual color and at the highest level is used for prayer. To soften the palette from the stark white and deep purple we introduced a soft green. The navigation was kept simple and direct along with the content. At their request we also incorporated a CMS (content management system) for the members so that content can be easily updated through their browser.
